Music and Mission is an attempt to mesh living an intentional life with the pursuit of a life passion/dream. The outcome desired is more about what kind of person you become rather than what musical skills you achieve. Character born out of resilience, used to engage challenges, has life long repercussions for good.

About 11 years ago I asked God for 20 years of significance. Then I got my first bus. Due to many generosities, it has been painted red, saddled with a big aluminum stage and filled with a livable interior and electricity. The second bus arrived a couple years later and it is still being formed. Over time an idea began to come into view…could these vehicles help young musicians learn to become better musicians while learning the art of self discipline and community engagement. Come to find out, they can.

We started in 2023 with 7 students. We spent two weeks in rehearsal and then toured through Portland, Bend, Walla Walla, Spokane and Burlington. This year we have six students who rehearsed for 3 weeks…extra time was spent on songwriting…and will tour through Portland, Bend, Walla Walla, Boise and Burlington. Several students will also take advantage of a post tour intensive geared towards even more skill development.

What do the students receive for pursuing this adventure? This year students attend Walla Walla University and Portland Adventist Academy. These schools put up a $1000 scholarship per student. Inner Anvil Ministries puts up a $1000 matching fund per student. Whatever the students raise for their scholarship, IAM matches up to a $1000.

This is where you come in. If you are reading this, chances are it’s because a student has reached out to you, hoping you can see the life benefit from a summer spent in this kind of service. Every dollar you give gets doubled, helping these students afford the education they are pursuing.

Inner Anvil Ministries is a registered 501c3 so your donation will be tax deductible. We have been working with high school, college students and their families for over 20 years. If you are interested in a more consistent donating process, feel free to reach out via phone or email.
